Vernon Kay is joined by founding member of the girl group All Saints Shaznay Lewis.

Sharing her Tracks of My Years with Vernon Kay is the founding member of the highly influential girl group All Saints Shaznay Lewis.

Vernon Kay welcomes to the studio for the second time this year actress, and singer/songwriter Shaznay Lewis.  Earlier this year she gave us her magnificent “Piano Room” performance at Maida Vale.  Today she will choosing her favourite songs and stories behind them in this week’s Tracks Of My Years omnibus edition.

She grew up in Islington, North London and made three appearances for Arsenal Ladies during her teenage years, which obviously helped her to secure the role as Mel in the 2001 hit film “Bend It Like Beckham”. 

She is the founding member of the highly influential girl group “All Saints” known for hit singles like “Never Ever”, “Pure Shores” and “Black Coffee” all co-written by Shaznay.  She is one of the most successful pop songwriters of the late nineties, early noughties writing for Tina Turner, Little Mix, Beverley Knight and Westlife amongst many others, for which she won accolades including two BRIT Awards, a MOBO and an Ivor Novello.

She premiered her latest single “Kiss of Life” on Zoe Ball’s Breakfast Show and indeed it was one of the tracks she played during her Piano Room performance.  
Her picks, include Bob Marley, New Kids on the Block and En Vogue.
