On today’s show, novelist and screenwriter Alex Garland shares his 'First, Last and Everything' - that’s the first record he owned, the most recent one he's enjoyed and the record that means ‘everything’ to him.

Alex Garland became known in the late 90’s with his novel ‘The Beach’, which was adapted into a film in 2000 starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tilda Swinton, and Robert Carlisle. He has continued to worked alongside Danny Boyle on various film projects, including writing the post-apocalyptic horror film ‘28 Days Later’, starring Cillian Murphy. In 2014 he wrote and directed his first film, the sci-fi thriller 'Ex-Machina'. Alex talks about his new film ‘Civil War’ and shares his musical enthusiasms.
