A landmark hearing opens at the International Court of Justice

The South African government has launched a genocide case against Israel at the UN's top court, accusing them of genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza.

The South African government has launched a court case against Israel, accusing them of genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza and  demanding an immediate end to Israel's offensive. We hear from our correspondent in the Hague, Netherlands, where the International Court of Justice is situated for the latest on the case.  We also hear reaction from Israel to the charges and we get an update on the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

We hear from Papua New Guinea where a state of emergency has been declared after at least 15 people were killed in rioting. Shops and cars were torched and supermarkets looted after police went on strike on Wednesday over a pay cut the authorities say was a mistake.

We continue hearing from people who have contracted Sepsis, a serious condition that happens when the body's immune system has an extreme response to an infection. We hear from Cindy Mullins, a nurse and mother from Kentucky whose story when viral.  After complications with a kidney stone her Sepsis infection led to a quadruple amputation, but she is on the road to recovery.
