A journey into the exciting worlds of video games and gaming music.

Elle Osili-Wood's subject is gaming and literature in a show that features music by Garry Schyman, Coeur de pirate and Elle's guest, composer of the Alan Wake series, Petri Alanko.

The world of literature has made a sizeable impact on gaming both in terms of themes and ideas and in shaping narratives. More recently, gaming has been making its mark on literature, with more and more books appearing based on established games and on the distinctive nature of gaming; it has even been suggested that some games could be considered forms of contemporary literature. 
Elle Osili-Wood considers the relationship between games and books in a programme that features soundtracks by Marcin Przybyłowicz for ‘The Witcher 3’ ; by Maribeth Solomon & Brent Barkman for ‘Sunless Skies’; Garry Schyman for ‘Bioshock’; The Alkemie Early Music Ensemble for ‘Pentiment’; Cœur de Pirate for ‘Child of Light’, Laurence Chapman for ‘80 Days’; Andrea Boccadoro for ‘Astrologaster’; and Adam Gubman for ‘Elsinore’.  Elle’s guest is composer Petri Alanko who talks about his music for the remarkable  ‘Alan Wake’ series, including the new ‘Alan Wake 2’, and also ‘Quantum Break’.
