The Education Secretary says any headteacher who wants to ban mobile phones in the classroom will have her support. Jenny Gilruth was making a statement to Holyrood following international figures last week which show standards in secondary schools are slipping, and that the use of smart phones is linked to greater student anxiety, disruption and less concentration.
