There are calls for a ceasefire as Israeli offensive in northern Gaza continues

There are calls for a ceasefire as Israeli offensive in northern Gaza continues.

Israeli ground forces have been advancing overnight into northern Gaza. Around 400,000 people are believed to be in the area, which has been under heavy bombardment. Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is heading to Turkey to continue his talks with leaders in the Middle East. Leaders of Arab countries have been calling for a ceasefire. 
 
Also in the programme: we look at the impact of the closure of small roads linking villages and towns on the border of France and Spain; and we speak to Desmond Child who has written some of the biggest hits in music. 
 
Joining presenter Julian Worricker are journalist and broadcaster Maria Margaronis and Eric Albert, the London Correspondent for France's Le Monde newspaper.
