In this third edition Gary West features music from the World Pipe Band Championships and looks at the theme of 'participation'. Who are the players that come to compete at this event and where do they come from? More than 6000 musicians attend the Worlds each year from around the globe and we get to hear some of their stories. Including chats with pipers Jamie Hawke from New Zealand , Austen Diepenhorst from San Diego and Tirath Singh who is the pipe major of Malaysia's Sri Dasmesh Pipe Band made up of members of the Sikh community. Plus Gary selects music from his personal collection for his regular features 'Pipes Of The World' and 'Tune of The Day' which this week features a bagpipe version of a rock classic by AC/DC!
