Janice Forsyth talks to director Shane Meadows, and writer John Niven.

Janice is joined by Shane Meadows ahead of an event at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, and John Niven talks about his memoir O Brother.

Shane Meadow's film Dead Man's Shoes gets a retrospective screening at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. He joins Janice in studio to look back at its impact.

Janice talks to John Niven about his memoir O Brother, written in memory of his brother, who took his own life in 2010.

Gillian Lacey-Solymar is a founder of the Movers and Shakers podcast, about life with Parkinson's disease. She's created a new musical for the Edinburgh Fringe, Irrepressible, inspired by the life of Emma Hamilton, the world's first celebrity. 

And in the Tuesday Review, Hannah McGill and James Crawford discuss Normal Rules Don't Apply, Kate Atkinson's new volume of interlinked short stories; Dark Noon, a theatre spectacle at this year's Fringe, which explores the birth of the USA; and Reel Britannia, a documentary series telling the story of modern British film.
