Derry is hosting the GAA World Games with 1,500 players arriving for the four-day event. 

Derry is hosting the GAA World Games with 1,500 players arriving for the four-day event, making up nearly 100 teams from Australia, Canada, China, Europe, the UK and Asia. 

This week Derry is hosting the GAA World Games with 1,500 players arriving for the four-day event, making up nearly 100 teams from Australia, Canada, China, Europe, the UK and Asia. Mark is joined by Bridge O'Neill, the operations manager of the Games and Dennis Orsi, whose daughter Lisa, a Gaelic footballer died during a holiday in Indonesia eight years ago. Also with us is Fearghal McGuigan, presenter of Blas who will broadcasting live from the heart of the official parade and launch event in the city this evening. 

Dr Adrian Grant, history lecturer at Ulster University at Magee will be on the programme to discuss O’Doherty’s Keep at Swan Park in Buncrana which is going on auction for €175,000.

We’re treated to three live performances from Opera Hibernia, the Derry based opera initiative that uses the power of live performance, not just to inspire and uplift, but also to nurture a new generation of emerging artists. 

Our film specialist, Martin Bradley, is back to talk about what everyone has been talking about all weekend: Barbie and Oppenheimer. 

Flooding over the weekend in Castlederg and Raphoe has caused damage to homes and business. Castlederg DUP Cllr Keith Kerrigan will be telling us the latest on this.

County Derry woman Ciara McChrystal was diagnosed with MS when she was 22 but hasn’t let her illness stop her from competing in her chosen sport. Now, Ciara uses a wheelchair and is part of the North West Wolves wheelchair basketball team.
