Radio 1 returns to Ibiza in 2023 for the 28th year, with the biggest event they've ever held. This reaffirms Ibiza's relevance, however many of Radio 1's 15-24 year old listeners don't know how it became the most important global dance destination. Presented by Sarah Story, this 8 part series will showcase the modern Ibiza, whilst touching on its history. The island is full of cultural contradictions and diverse stories therefore each episode will reflect the different aspects Ibiza has to offer.

Sarah Story takes us to Ibiza - she’s been visiting every year since she was 19 - and she’s going to tell us what all the fuss is about. Some of our favourite DJs tell us what it feels like to arrive in Ibiza for the first time. We go to Café Mambo to soak in the Balearic sunset vibes before heading to legendary club Amnesia - where Sarah’s playing tonight at Elrow. It’s a full circle moment for her, because when she was younger, Sarah used to be a worker in clubs like Amnesia.
