Angela Griffin has been inspired by Sir David Attenborough’s BBC One show Wild Isles, which documents the varied nature of the United Kingdom.

We continue that theme with a selection of songs that salute the calming countryside and peaceful places across the UK. 

From the serene juxtaposition of a Waterloo Sunset to that satisfying hands-on-your-hips pose as you drink in the view from the top of Solsbury Hill.

We’ll also be enlisting Clare Balding and the team at BBC Radio 4’s Ramblings show, transporting us directly to the waterfalls of South Wales, Northern Ireland‘s Mourne Mountains and Deacon Blue take us to the beach at Fife. Full ‘Ramblings’ shows are available on BBC Sounds.
