Mark visits the Tayvallich Estate in Argyll, where Jeremy Leggett talks through the future of the estate after its acquisition by Highlands Rewilding.

Over in Huntly, foraging chef Kawther Luay teams up with artist Fionn Duffy to create a series of meals that only work with hyperlocal ingredients. Mark samples a bit of the menu, and the folklore surrounding the food.

A purpose-built House Martin Tower has been constructed at Craigievar Castle in Aberdeenshire, whilst repairs to the castle are carried out. Rachel met surveyor Annie Robertson and ranger Roddy Hamilton to chat about the structure.

A major conference on tick borne diseases, NorthTick, has been taking place in Inverness this week. In light of it all, Rachel speaks with Morven-May MacCallum, campaigner and long term sufferer of Lyme Disease, about the disease. 

Mark chats with Seawilding’s Danny Renton, about their Native Oyster nursery, and Seagrass restoration project at Loch Craignish.  

We chat with Emmy Cooper-Young, Shellfish Restoration Officer with Marine Conservation Society, about the Native Oyster repopulation project at Restoration Forth. 

An excerpt from our midweek podcast, Scotland Outdoors, explores artist Keg de Souza’s exhibition, Shipping Routes, at the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh. 

Rachel heads out to meet Ben Geyer, who has been gathering hazel wood from his coppice woodland in West Fife, for the new Crannog Centre on Loch Tay. 

In a historic event, the modern RRS Discovery will travel to Dundee to meet its ancestral inspiration - the 1901 RRS Discovery, as a mark of its 100th anniversary. Rachel heads along to get a sense of the occasion.
