Nigel Havers presides as members of the public with interesting items to sell come face to face with five dealers who bid against each other to try to bag themselves a bargain.

Before facing the dealers, each seller has their item valued by auctioneer Simon Bower. Simon also gives them top tips on the history and key characteristics of their piece, so that when they enter the bidding room, they have all the information they need to try to haggle the best possible price from the dealers.

All the dealers are spending their own money but have no idea what the sellers have brought in.

Nigel Havers hosts as the dealers battle each other to buy items brought in by the public.

Nigel Havers welcomes more members of the public hoping to sell items to the dealers. Today, a curious pub game, an unusual statue, an apothecary set, a coffee grinder and a rocking horse.

Nigel Havers welcomes five more sellers to the Bidding Room, where they try to sell items to five professional dealers who are on the lookout for interesting pieces, with help from expert Simon Bower.

Opening proceedings today is Les with a vintage pub game that he reckons the dealers will have some fun with. But will he be raising a glass to a good deal when the bidding is done?

Next in is Ahmed, hoping to mesmerise the dealers with a small and mysterious statue that he’s had for decades. He’s set his sights on a big money sale – so will the dealers match his estimation?

Up next is Jack with an apothecary box complete with tiny weights. He’s convinced it is a unique piece, but will the dealers share his enthusiasm?
