Facing eviction from their flat, single mum Costello and daughter Iris scramble to find housing before nightfall. Selby's return from prison receives mixed reactions.

Facing eviction from their flat, Costello makes a promise to her daughter Iris that they will have a safe place to stay by nightfall. Selby is back in the free world after a stint in prison and keen to reconnect with Iris and Costello. Selby and Costello don’t know if they can trust one another again, but as Costello and Iris’s search for a place to stay grows more desperate, both Costello and Selby will stop at nothing to keep Iris safe in the crooked city.
