Determined to prevent her grandma's café from closing, Holly organizes an open mic night.

After finding out that her grandma’s café might have to close for good, Holly attempts to save the beloved family business by hosting an open mic night.

Holly discovers that the Calico Café is going out of business - customers just aren't showing up anymore, ever since the new mega-mall opened nearby. Determined to help her grandma Helen save the Calico, Holly and her best friend Amy start a crowdfunding page to raise money, but Helen doesn’t want to be seen as a charity case and tells them to take it down. 

The whole town seems to be moving on - Amy has been spending a lot of time with her new friend Piper, and even Holly’s sister Heather feels left behind when she learns that her previously co-ed baseball team is now 'boys only'. Holly’s dad reminds her that the Calico was special because it brought the community together, and he suggests that instead of trying to keep Amy and Piper apart, she should find something that they can all do together. Seeing this as the perfect opportunity both to save her friendship and to prove that the people of Collinsville still care about the café, Holly decides to host an open mic at the Calico
