Rianne Downey plays an acoustic session and Konnie Huq’s new documentary looks at how kids’ tv has championed representation and social change.

Singer-songwriter Rianne Downey performs an acoustic session live for Janice, and shares her new single Home. She talks about a whirlwind year, and supporting some of her idols. 

Konnie Huq’s new BBC documentary, Kids TV: The Surprising Story celebrates the way that children’s television has championed social change and representation, ahead of the grown-up programmes.  

A new photobook Comrade Sisters: Women of the Black Panther Party shines a light on the individuals often underrepresented in retellings of the movement that fought for social, political and economic change for Black and indigenous people of colour. Stephen Shames and Ericka Higgins join Janice.

Plus in Tuesday Review, film studies lecturer Pasquale Iannone and journalist Anita Markoff look at two thrilling tv offerings – The Devil’s Hour starring Peter Capaldi, and a collection of horror stories from a master: Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities. They also take a listen to three big album drops from Taylor Swift, Arctic Monkeys and Simple Minds.
