So what are Liz Truss’ options now? Uncertainty about the Prime Minister's survival has increased further, after the sudden resignation of her Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, and extraordinary scenes during a vote in the Commons last night. Opposition MPs alleged some Tories were bullied and manhandled into voting with the government on fracking. A minister denied the claim but many Tory MPs ended the day feeling angry and let down by their own party. SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon described the events as an "utter shambles" and called for a general election.
