Today, as part of 6 Music’s Way With Words season to mark National Poetry Day, Mark and Stuart talk to poet Liz Berry. She discusses the similarities and differences between poetry and song lyrics, and shares some of her favourite songs.

The Birmingham-based poet has previously released collections of her work on the topics of motherhood and The Black Country. She has collaborated with artist Tom Hicks for his photography project Black Country Type, which celebrates the post-industrial landscapes of the West Midlands. Her newest release, ‘The Home Child’, is due out in March 2023.
