Ray writes up best-selling sci-fi stories, and he spends at least a week writing each novel or the quality suffers. 

All the pointless interruptions from his lodger Colin would put Ray off, if he didn't find ingenious ways of incorporating their conversations into the thrilling space adventures of hard-working Baron Amstrad and his constantly interrupting robot companion Info.

Mitchell and Webb play the hack sci-fi scribe and gormless lodger.
