2.4 million people are living in left behind neighbourhoods.

With 2.4 million people living in 'left behind neighbourhoods', Peter White hears about work being done to help.

2.4 million people are living in 'Left Behind Neighbourhoods' according to new research carried out by the Oxford Consultants for Social Inclusion. The research suggests that where you live affects how much support you can get to deal with rising prices. Peter White hears from Matthew Leach, Chief Executive of the Local Trust which funds projects in these areas and also Barbara Slasor who works for a project in County Durham to address some of the issues common to 'Left Behind Neighbourhoods'.  

In July 2020 the fashion industry was shocked by reports of underpaid workers in Leicester’s garment industry. Online retailer - Boohoo - found itself at the centre of a media storm when it's suppliers were accused of paying workers as little as £3.50 per hour.  Two years on following an independent review and a number of changes made to their supply chain practices, the company has opened it's own factory in Leicester. You and Yours reporter Jay Unger went inside the factory to find out how things have changed. 

Smart Meters are meant to help you keep track of your energy bills, particularly now, with energy prices sky high. The government wants every household in England, Wales and Scotland to have one by 2024. But You and Yours listeners have been getting in touch telling us that their smart meter aren't recording the correct usage. We hear about the experiences of John Granger and Neil Henderson and Peter White asks Fflur Lawton, Head of Policy and Public Affairs at Smart Energy GB why some Smart Meters don't appear to be so smart.
