In this second series of Ceol Sa Chroí, Caoimhe Chats Ní Chathail meets some of our most exciting contemporary musicians and singers to hear about their journey through music, their latest releases, and their plans for a bright future. Kicking off this series is the Donegal singer-songwriter Eve Belle, who describes herself as a ‘singer of sad bops,’ effortlessly floating her lyrics of heartbreak and sorrow over backdrops of effervescent pop that get you dancing through your tears. In an exclusive session recorded for us in Studio 8, Eve plays two of her songs: Smithereens and Begging For Rain.
