Can more players coming out as gay change football culture? Marvel's 1st Muslim superhero.

With referees Craig Napier and Lloyd Wilson coming out as gay, will have this have an effect on Scottish football? And why Marvels new female Muslim superhero, Ms Marvel, matters.

Sister Anna Marie McGwan speaks to Connie McLaughlin about vocation and purpose, having gone from not believing in God and attending an elite American military school to joining a convent. 

Poet and theologian Pádraig Ó’Tuama shares ‘A Casual Kindness’, a new collection of poetry that gives a fascinating insight into the criminal justice system. It’s a result of his collaboration with Vox Liminis’ Unbound Community, who have direct and diverse experience of the criminal justice system. 

Spoken word artist Bee Asha Singh and filmmaker Lea Luiz De Oliveira are part of consent and mental health charity Spit It Out, who are behind the brand new Aye Festival, an immersive arts festival focusing on creative ways to talk about, support and heal from trauma. Pádraig Ó’Tuama joins in the discussion on how the arts can help make sense of trauma.  
 
With football referees Craig Napier and Lloyd Wilson coming out publicly as gay, Connie asks how significant this is for Scottish football and society in general, with sports writer and broadcaster Graham Spiers, and Julie Cuthbertson, a lifelong Hibernian fan and founding member of Hibs’ new LGBTQ+ Supporters’ Group.

Witchcraft in the 21st century - does it dispel all the myths surrounding witches in popular culture as well as in history? Connie finds out with Claire Askew, one of the editors of ‘The Modern Craft; Powerful Voices on Witchcraft Ethics’, a book of essays written by self-identified witches. 

Marvel’s newest addition to the superhero gang is Ms Marvel, aka Kamala Khan, a young Pakistani-American Muslim. Sha Nazir, publisher at BHP Comics, and screenwriter and director Raisah Ahmed give their verdict on this not so stereotypical superhero and why she matters.
