Gemma Hunt talks about her new children's book. An insight into the Queen and her faith.

If you're female with hobbies that immerse you in the great outdoors, a slight nervousness can sometimes take hold as daylight fades or a stranger approaches. These experiences are explored in Clipped Wings, a radio programme presented by bird watcher Lucy Hodson, who joins Connie McLaughlin, alongside runner Catriona Bruce. 

Before Sr Anna Marie McGuan became a member of St Andrew’s Convent in Edinburgh, she attended the elite American military school West Point. She tells Connie about her journey to faith, as well as offering some spiritual guidance. 

Critic Gareth K Vile shares his thoughts on ‘The Righteous’,  a new film about a former priest lashing out at God after the loss of his child. 

To mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend  a unique insight into her life from two of her current chaplains. The Very Rev Dr Lorna Hood, a former Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, and Very Rev David Fergusson, reveal a more personal side to her Majesty, and her relationship with her faith.

A lot has changed in the 70 years since the Queen came to the throne, including the standards of living across the UK. The Very Rev Dr Lorna Hood and Simon Barrow, Director of Ekklesia, a think tank about ethics, beliefs and public life, discuss how these changes have impacted our expectations in life, and how we may now have to manage these expectations with the looming climate and cost of living crises. 

A new children’s book re-imagines the stories and parables of Jesus in a modern setting, with a mixed-race family as the main characters. Author Gemma Hunt, better known as the presenter of children’s TV pirate gameshow, Swashbuckle, and also one of the hosts of Songs of Praise, talks about the inspiration for the book.
