Vérène Nicolas lives with pain every day alongside her husband Alastair McIntosh.  Together they explore ways of finding meaning and even hope in human pain.

Vérène Nicolas lives with pain every day, alongside her husband, Alastair McIntosh.  Drawing on Vérène's experience as an advocate for non-violence and organisational coach, and Alastair's as a Quaker and environmental author, they explore ways of finding meaning and even hope in human pain. Their conversation springs from both personal and global perspectives, against the backdrop of Christ's suffering in the Good Friday story. 

They’re joined by writer and therapist Madge Bray, who is working to make sung expressions of pain available to a society which has sometimes lost touch with the connections that help people carry on.
