Lucille Ball stars in the vintage American sitcom which ran for well over a 100 episodes between 1948 and 1951.

Co-starring Richard Denning as her banker husband, My Favorite Husband is the story of Liz and George Cugat, a happily married couple living in the fictitious city of Sheridan Falls.

Based on the two novels written by Isabel Scott Rorick, Mr And Mrs Cugat, The Record Of A Happy Marriage (1940) and Outside Eden (1945).

In this opening episode, Liz and George’s housekeeper is desperate for a new dishwasher. Liz’s solution is to get a spot on a prize-winning quiz show. What could go wrong?

The popularity of this radio series led to Lucille’s ground breaking TV sitcom role, I Love Lucy. This was to cement her long-running position as one of America’s favourite entertainers over several decades. 

First broadcast in the USA on CBS Radio in October 1948.
