Star of Derry Girls Tara Flynn O'Neil talks about her debut BBC Four play Rough Girls

Janice is in conversation with the award winning journalist, radio & TV presenter, podcast host and producer of This American Life, Ira Glass, and author Lucy Foley is on the show

Janice is joined by TARA LYNNE O’NEILL better known as ‘Ma Mary Quinn’ from Channel 4 comedy Derry Girls to hear about the debut play she has written for BBC 4 Rough Girls – based on the story of the Northern Irish Women’s football team formed more than 100 years ago.

Janice hears from bestselling author of The Hunting Party and The Guest List LUCY FOLEY about her new murder mystery novel The Paris Apartment. 

Janice’s Single of the Week is Called You Out by 24 year old Cromarty singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist TAMZENE, her debut single on her new record label EMI. She talks about being inspired to write the song by an online argument with a friend over the Black Lives Matter movement. 

Award winning poet HOLLIE MCNISH and Highlands based singer songwriter and inventor LOMOND CAMPBELL talk about participating in Neu! Reekie!’s exhibition and bespoke series of events at the Piers Arts Residency in Orkney, along with Neu! Reekie! co-founder MICHAEL PEDERSEN who gives us an overview of what to expect from the 5 days the collective will spend on the Island.

Award-winning journalist and radio presenter IRA GLASS talks to Janice about the podcasts he has presented and produced including This American Life, Serial and The Trojan Horse Affair ahead of his Edinburgh in-person event SEVEN THINGS I’VE LEARNED, in which he will share lessons he’s learned during his life and career.
