DJ Edu brings his rich musical knowledge of the African music scene.  
And each week there’s a big interview with star name from music, fashion, football, and more – they’ll be sharing what excites them in music right now. 

This Is Africa also each week features DJ Edu’s Ten in Ten: 10 tracks from 10 different countries in 10 minutes. 
And there’s a focus on new talent every time – the programme will always be introducing up and coming artists from a different African country.

DJ Edu talks to Malawian hip-hop artist Tay Grin about how traditional music influences his work, and hears how Kenyan singer Tanasha Donna has found a new focus for her music.

Tay Grin is a hip-hop artist from Malawi who says he’s strongly influenced by traditional music from his country. He uses Malawian drums and rhythms mixed with contemporary urban sounds, and his stage shows often feature ornately clad traditional dancers.

Also in the programme is Kenyan singer Tanasha Donna. She’s a well-known model, influencer and businesswoman, but following on from her 2020 hit song Gere with her ex, Diamond Platnumz, she says she’s realised her potential in music and is determined to take it more seriously.
