Seonaid Aitken is joined by guitarist Haftor Medboe who shares news about the Scottish Jazz Archive, an open access online resource which aims to document Scottish jazz from the 1950s to the present time. Plus two of Scotland’s finest young players, saxophonist Helena Kay and pianist Pete Johnstone, perform a rare duo session live in the studio. This week’s chapter of Richard Michael’s Song Book explores the joyous New Orleans inspired Trad Jazz tune South Rampart Street Parade. Plus a track from a new album of previously unreleased material from pianist Stan Tracey , a Nina Simone classic from the recently released film Licorice Pizza and new music from BBC Introducing.
