Eco resolutions, why relics are growing in popularity and the state of religion and belief around the world are some of the topics in this new year edition of Sunday.

Most Rev Dr Thabo Makgoba, the Archbishop of Cape Town and youth leader Xolile Biyela discuss the legacy of Archbishop Tutu and who will take his place as a champion for freedom and equality on the world stage.

Why are both religious and secular relics becoming so popular?  Dr Dennis Touw and Dr Emma Wells discuss their significance as plans are underway for the relic of St Bernadette of Lourdes to visit the UK later this year.  

Thursday marks the first anniversary of the storming of Capitol Hill in Washington, an event which shocked many in the USA and around the world.  Andrew Whitehead, co-author of "Taking America Back to God: Christian Nationalism in the United States" explains the part Christian Nationalism played on that day and why it is a threat to democracy.

MP Fiona  Bruce, the Prime Minister's Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief talks to William about the scale of persecution of people around the world as she takes on her new role as chair of the International Religious Freedom and Belief Alliance.

Zara Mohammed, the first female and youngest General Secretary of the Muslim Council of Britain, talks about her plans to tackle diversity and Islamophobia as the MCB reaches it's 25th anniversary.

And comedian Rachel Creeger and priest and author Fergus Butler-Gallie reveal their eco-resolutions.
