Outdoor swimmer and “Chunky Dunker” Martin Strain tells John about his new book “Mercedes Meets Her Nemesis” about the history of long distance swimmer Mercedes Gleitze who attempted to swim the North Channel back in the 1920’s.  Heather Rice and Helen Torr talk about their group writing initiative “Free Your Inner Book”.   John catches up with Galway musician Ultan Conlon to hear his new nostalgic track “Penny Sweets”.  Looking back over 2021 there are a selection of highlights from the programme and Paula McIntyre cooks pork Florentine with braised lentils and balsamic grilled onion.
