What kinds of sanctions could the US use to deter Russia from military action in Ukraine?

In a virtual summit, US President Joe Biden voiced deep concern over Russia's build-up of forces near Ukraine, while his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin demanded legally-binding security guarantees that would rule out Ukraine ever joining the NATO military alliance. Edward Fishman from the Atlantic Council's Eurasia Center in Washington explains what kind of economic sanctions the US has at its disposal to deter Russia. Also in the programme, Lucas Chancel, Codirector and Senior economist at the World Inequality Lab, explains how the world became more unequal during the Covid-19 pandemic. And the boss of a US company has fired 900 members of staff on a single Zoom call.
