Is it time to rethink gendered language we use in religious practices; and what drives people to put their wellbeing at risk for a cause.

Last week Richard Ratcliffe ended his 21-day hunger strike trying to persuade the Foreign Office to do more to secure his wife Nazanin’s release from Iran. But what drives someone to put their health and safety at risk for a cause? Connie is joined by Bishop David Chillingworth of the Scottish Episcopal Church and Janet Fenton, Co-Vice-Chair of Scottish Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.
 
On the Ardnamurchan peninsula, on the West coast, Sarah and Hugh Asher are developing an unusual initiative in the crofting world – what they call 'social crofting'. Reporter Kathleen Carragher visited to see how the adapted croft combines their interest in farming with the experimental use of prescribing nature to help people in their lives. 
 
In a new collection of poetry, ‘Patient Dignity’, Bashabi Fraser has created reflections of the pandemic rooted in nature, as well as exploring cultural differences. The collection also includes the artwork of Vibha Pankaj, and Connie talks to both artists about their collaboration.
 
Is it time to rethink the language we use in religious practice and specifically the use of gendered language? Connie explores the extent to which we might want to adapt text to be more inclusive, especially of women. With Dr Ophira Gamliel, a Lecturer in South Asian Religions with University of Glasgow, Sally Foster-Fulton, the Head of Christian Aid Scotland, and Rabbi Pete Tobias of the Glasgow Reform Synagogue.
 
Connie meets Libby McArthur and Ross Hyslop of new podcast The Elephant In The Room which explores the subjects we’d rather not talk about for fear of making us feel uncomfortable or vulnerable. 

Will Smith’s new film ‘King Richard’ tells the story of the success of tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams and the central role their father Richard had in turning them into champions. Sports psychologist Alban Dickson joins Connie to discuss whether Richard Williams’ unrelenting coaching style is necessary to create sporting excellence or whether there are alternative approaches.
