Mark Stephen hears how Dame Judi Dench and Clive Anderson helped a community in Oban save their local cinema from permanent closure.

Best friends Margaret McColl and Mamie Cattanach, known locally in Oban as the cinema girls, tell Mark Stephen of their distress after having turned up to watch a film one Saturday night to find the building in total darkness. Mark also hears from former town centre manager Campbell Cameron about how he helped to rally the community together to raise funds in order to save the local cinema from permanent closure and Katharine McKerrell tells us about how she managed to persuade Dame Judi Dench and Clive Anderson to attend a special dinner as part of the fundraising efforts.
