Two British doubles pairs get their group stage campaigns underway in Tokyo.

Marcus Ellis and Lauren Smith face of against French duo Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue in the mixed doubles with the two pairings separated by just two spots in the world rankings. In the men's doubles, British pair Ben Lane and Sean Vendy were up against world number one pairing Marcus Gideon and Kevin Sukamuljo. The British duo are in form but face a tough match against the Indonesian's.
