Britain's Adam Peaty gets his quest for gold underway today as he competes in the 100m breaststroke. The world record holder is looking to swim faster and faster as he looks to cement his name in the swimming history books. The USA and France are in action in the 3x3 basketball, which is a new event for the full Olympics, having previously been seen in the Youth Olympics. In the Badminton, Birth and Smith kick off their women's doubles campaign against Japanese duo and number one seeds Fukushima and Hirota. Kosovo go for gold in the women's 48kg Judo contest, with Distria Krasniqi looking for her country's first medal of the games. Ireland's women are also in action as they face South Africa in the women's hockey, it is Ireland's first appearance in this event at the Olympic games. Norway's beach volleyball campaign get's underway against Australia's men with both sides going for gold.
