The last 16 months have been unimaginably difficult for Scotland’s tourism industry since the start of the pandemic.  But with many people choosing to staycation, some for the first time in years, could the sun be starting to shine again for the sector?  Marc Crothall, the CEO of the Scottish Tourism Alliance says despite some areas like self-catering accommodation doing well this summer the loss of international visitors to Scotland has impacted heavily on the hotel trade in cities.
