Mark finds out all about the European Eel as he visits the River Almond to hear why the Forth Rivers Trust have launched an initiative to help preserve the endangered species.

Rory Crawford takes us on a walk round his favourite local nature reserve in Glasgow.  It’s been a haven for Rory and his family over the past year and is home to a surprising array of wildlife. 
				
And with Glasgow greenspaces in mind, we hear live about the campaign to make Glasgow Scotland’s first National Park City.  
	
Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park is a hugely popular location for all kinds of visitors, and it has been particularly popular over the last year.  Mark heads to Balloch to speak to Kenny Auld, head of visitor services for the park, about how this summer season has been so far.

The Big Butterfly Count is Butterfly Conservation’s annual citizen science project and it has just kicked off for 2021. We hear live about how to get involved and why the scientific data that comes from the results is important. 

Staying with butterflies and moths, Mark is at the RSPB’s Loch Lomond reserve to see an experimental shelter-sculpture created by visual artist Hannah Imlach, Moth Kota.

In our latest Scotland Outdoors podcast Mark and Euan chat to author Charlie Corbett about his book, 12 Birds to Save Your Life: Nature's Lessons in Happiness. We hear an excerpt from their conversation. 

After an albatross was spotted off the coast near Flamborough, East Yorkshire, Rory tells us a bit about these impressive seabirds which are usually found in the South Atlantic.

And while we were recording our River Tay programme, Mark and Euan headed off the beaten track to visit the old village of Lawers on the banks of Loch Tay. Apparently haunted by the Lady of Lawers, the village has just been put up for sale.
