The 2020 Tokyo Olympic Stadium have begun with a subdued opening ceremony.

The 2020 Tokyo Olympics began in a virtually empty stadium while the atheletes, determined to enjoy themselves, processed into the stadium with their national flags to an audience of no more than a thousand spectators. 

Also on the programme: Kenya has begun using drones to identify mosquito breeding sites in the country and kill them at the larval stage; and Tony Hawk talks about his excitement for skateboarding's debut at the Olympic Games.
