Singer-songwriter Joel Culpepper chats to Stuart about his debut album 'Sgt Culpepper'

On today’s show, South-East London singer-songwriter Joel Culpepper talks about his debut album ‘Sgt Culpepper’. The new album has been over two years in the making alongside his long time producer Swindle. The album also features additional production from the likes of pop producer Guy Chambers, Raf Rundell and Tom Misch.  On collaborating, Joel says “I’ve been inspired by how the UK Jazz and Grime scene supports each other. When Guy Chambers, Swindle and myself worked together – it felt like pop, grime, and soul coming together. They’re family”  ‘Sgt Culpepper’ follows the release of his two EP’s ‘Skydive’ in 2012 and ‘Tortoise’ in 2017.
