Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie present a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast

Today they catch up with legendary singer, songwriter, guitarist and founding member of The Pretenders, Chrissie Hynde.  She chats about her brand new album of Bob Dylan cover songs: ‘Standing in the Doorway: Chrissie Hynde sings Bob Dylan.’  The songs were recorded during lockdown by Chrissie and her Pretenders bandmate James Walbourne, almost entirely by text message.  James would record ideas on his phone and send them to Chrissie to add her vocal.

Released around the time of Bob Dylan’s 80th birthday, the album includes covers of ‘In The Summertime,’ ‘You’re A Big Girl Now’ and ‘Tomorrow Is A Long Time.’  There is also an accompanying documentary about the making of the album and Chrissie’s relationship with Dylan’s music.
