Jamie’s guest on the show this week is drummer Jas Kayser, who joins him for a Take 5 interview!
25 year old Jas spent years in the US studying at the prestigious Berklee College of Music - playing alongside mentors and music giants including Terri Lyne Carrington, Danilo Perez and Ralph Peterson - before establishing herself as a growing force in the UK jazz scene.

A year on from releasing her debut EP, Unforced Rhythm of Grace, Jas is preparing to record her first album and has been a regular fixture on the digital gig circuit throughout lockdown - leading her own band in live stream performances at Ronnie Scott’s and the Cheltenham Jazz Festival, as well as playing with a host of regular collaborators including Kansas Smitty’s.

Jas Kayser tells us about her early love of Herbie Hancock, how learning from the greats shaped her outlook on music and her quest to find a rhythm that everyone can dance to!
