Morning nonsense, Yesterday's Quiz and All The Latest Things!

Welcome to any new readers who might have seen my Tweet about all this yesterday! We’ll get to the business of some ‘written down BBC Sounds shoutouts in a minute’. But first...the show! 

Today was a weird one, I’ll be honest. I think it might be the rain. I feel oppressed under the clouds and it makes me extra wacky. A bit like when you had wet break at school, you know? And all the windows are steamed up and everyone’s all pent up and wired.

Along with an ‘Ask The Nation’ about an elephant, we talked about stories people have that end with ‘...and then the windows smashed...’, I speculated on what Haim’s Brit Award secret was, we had a brilliant primary school teacher called Laurelle on the Quiz, Will Chalk from the news offered to tattoo the words ‘I LOVE YOU’ on me and I got told off by the fire service for encouraging people to microwave their knickers. 

All in all, a fun morning. 

And now...for the shoutouts! 5 I reckon to begin with. By the way, BBC Sounds have not in any way sanctioned this so let’s make the most of it before we get shut down by ‘the man’.

1. Harrison and Bex! They listen on the way to school every day and apparently Harrison has been working very hard at school lately. Good lad. 

2. Amy in Solihull has had the worst year EVER and has been living on her own for a bit and it’s been tough but has SURVIVED. Amy, sending you my love - hope this has perked you up. You’re great. Keep on going! 

3. Graham The Woodhall Spa Newsagent! One of the OG listeners I had when I first started Early Breakfast in 2007 (!!!) I LOVE that you’re still there every day mate x 

4. Katie, who listens every morning before school, finishes school FOREVER next week! Congratulations! 

5. Chaya in New York! Listens on demand every day and NEVER gets a shoutout so here’s one for you! I can’t wait to be back in NY one day soon.
