Sir Terry first commentated on Eurovision for BBC Radio in 1971 then from 1978-2006 was the familiar voice each year during BBC Television's broadcasts of the Contest. Who can forget his memorable comments like "Those are his own teeth"; "That was song 11, there's only about 300 more to go" or "The entrance of the unfortunates. It's time for Ant and Shrek".
