DJ Edu brings his rich musical knowledge of the African music scene.  
And each week there’s a big interview with star name from music, fashion, football, and more – they’ll be sharing what excites them in music right now. 

This Is Africa also each week features DJ Edu’s Ten in Ten: 10 tracks from 10 different countries in 10 minutes. 
And there’s a focus on new talent every time – the programme will always be introducing up and coming artists from a different African country.

A producer at the forefront of South Africa's dance scene discusses his epic new album

South African DJ, songwriter and producer Sun-El Musician talks to DJ Edu about his epic new album To the World and Beyond.

Sun-El Musician is a DJ, songwriter and producer from the KwaZulu-Natal highlands of South Africa. Although he grew up in a rural setting, a love of computers and technology has seen this self-confessed geek develop a lush electro style backed by big beats and soaring vocals. Along with fellow countryman and former TIA guest Black Coffee, he’s part of a growing dance scene in his homeland. 

In this week’s show, Sun-El tells DJ Edu all about his new album, To the World and Beyond, a sprawling musical opus containing 31 tracks and 26 different collaborations spread over more than three hours.  He also explains why he finds it tough being a perfectionist, how the pandemic has hit him in a very personal way and why a formative experience involving Daft Punk and a bathtub helped him develop a love for keeping it simple. 

DJ Edu will also have this week’s 10-in-10 mix featuring some of the hottest new tracks from across the Motherland.
