OJ plays the best One Hit Wonders from the 80s, 90s and 00s.

This week with Spoon from Black Legend.

They got to number 1 in the summer of 2000 with ‘You See The Trouble With Me’, a cover of a Barry White song from 1976. Barry himself only made it to number 2!

Spoon tells OJ all about how he ended up singing on the song last minute, appearing on Top Of The Pops, and what the experience taught him about the music industry. 

Elroy 'Spoonface Powell, aka Spoon The Voice Guy, is an author, actor, voice artist and media consultant. 

His experiences in the music industry led him to write a book to assist emerging talent with ideas around sustainability.

It’s called 'How To Think Beyond A Chart Position'.

In 2000, Spoon achieved international recording success as the voice of 'Black Legend' with their cover of the Barry White classic ‘You See the Trouble with Me’. It sold several million worldwide.

Spoon has collaborated with a number of artists from varying genres, including Danny Byrd, High Contrast, Kelis and Craig David to name a few. 

He has also made screen appearances; from the market of British soap EastEnders, to high profile commercials and his role as wrestler 'Union Jack' in the Rock and Stephen Merchant film 'Fighting With My Family', which debuted at number one in the UK. 

He has also appeared in Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens' as 'Rosser Weno' and Christmas Netflix hit Jingle Jangle. 

Spoon runs a voice-over agency and his new book ‘Voice Over Secrets’ is out now.
