Today is International Women’s Day and Janice will be joined by not one but two Guest Editors who will give her their arts and culture top recommendations, plus they’ll be taking control of the playlist. Scotland’s Makar Jackie Kay will be in charge of hour one, followed by Vanessa Kanbi, Scottish-Ghanaian co-host of BBC Scotland’s Word Up! podcast.
 
Jackie will also be talking about the reissue of her book about iconic and pioneering blues singer, Bessie Smith, in which she twines Bessie’s story with her own to explore how much Bessie’s life and work has meant to her.
