A young, aspiring writer hurls himself into Berlin society at the end of the 19th century.

Berlin 1894 - aspiring author Andrew Zumsee must make a name for himself - whatever it takes.  Stars John Kielty and James Bryce.

"Berlin's the place for someone like me - where everybody is somebody or knows somebody who's somebody. I need only sit here, make myself agreeable, and by the end of summer everybody in the Cafe Hurrah will be shouting 'Hurrah' for me..."

Heinrich Mann's novel was first published in 1900, 

Originally titled "In The Land of Cockaigne", this is the story of the rise and fall of Andrew Zumsee, an innocent but self-confident young poet from the provinces, as he attempts to make a name for himself in Berlin society. 

Starring John Kielty.

The older brother of Thomas Mann, Heinrich Mann is probably best remembered today as the author of the book which inspired the film "The Blue Angel".
