The BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year award has had a year like no other but the Final that took place on Sunday night was proof that talent still thrives in Scotland during these trying times. Bruce catches up with pianist Michael Biggins who was crowned winner for 2021 and finds out more about his background and his experience in the competition in this unprecedented year.

Plus we meet two more of the world music artists that appeared at Celtic Connections' online festival 2021. We hear from the griot and ngoni maestro Bassekou Kouyate and Amira Kheir, from Sudan, whose music is a celebration of ancient East African roots that have been catapulted into futuristic desert blues.
