Mary Beard on the new series of Inside Culture and Daragh Carville the writer of ITV drama, The Bay, ahead of the second series.

On Wednesday, Grant will be chatting to Mary Beard about her new series of INSIDE CULTURE which starts this week.  Broadcast just after inauguration day, the first episode will have an interview with Armando Iannucci and asks how comedians and satirists adapt to a new regime.

We speak to Daragh Carville the writer of ITV drama, The Bay, ahead of the second series which starts tonight.
 
And as it’s inauguration day with performances this year from Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez, we take a look back at past performances at inaugurations and discuss the practicalities of singing the national anthem outdoors in very cold temperatures plus the cultural importance of these events for the Presidents and what it can mean for the performers’ careers.

After the success of the online creative writing course for children during the first lockdown which led to a book of the stories written by the children, a new course starts on Thursday and we’ll be hearing all about it from author R.A. Powell.

The pandemic has left the deaf community feeling isolated so we find out about what the Lanarkshire Deaf Club can offer at this time and Grant speaks to Ian Galloway from the charity who will talk about this as well as their normal services when they re-open.
