A Ugandan artist refusing to stay silent about injustice

Ugandan reggae and dancehall artist A Pass tells DJ Edu why he believes musicians have a responsibility to speak out against injustice.

Ugandan reggae and dancehall artist A Pass is uncompromising. As he tells DJ Edu, he believes that musicians have a responsibility to speak out against injustice – they owe their success entirely to the people, so they cannot turn their backs when the people are in trouble. For A Pass, fear of consequences is not an excuse to stay silent, and he has been one of the most vocal following the death of more than 40 protesters in Uganda recently.
 
Plus, DJ Edu’s 10-in-10 mix this week includes big songs from Angola, Ghana and Zambia.
